Join the Cincinnati Observatory virtually, this Monday Jun 1 at 7 p.m. for Comets and Meteors.

Comet Atlas and Comet Swan have been in the news, but what’s the real story on these strange visitors?

What’s a meteor shower and when is the best one to watch? Astronomer Dean Regas shares the best comet stories and images as well as his tips for seeing shooting stars this summer.

Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader?

Do you enjoy trivia? Do you want to level the playing field in the classroom for thousands of teachers and their students in need in the Greater Cincinnati area? Crayons to Computers will host its award-winning Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader event June 1 – 5 … ONLINE! The live-streaming game show will take place on June 2. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, this event is being reinvented online to celebrate our collective mission impact and have some virtual fun.

Monday (June 1)
We’ll welcome you to the week and open auction bidding and raffle entry on field trip experiences, rare bourbons and many more fantastic items.

Tuesday (June 2) @ 5:30 PM – live-stream program including:
• Welcome from Crayons Board Chair and emcee, Nick Francis
• Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader moderated by Kathrine Nero
• Keynote speaker and community activist, Melody Smith
• Fund the Mission – with our very own auctioneers, Erin Wisecup and Mike Whittington

Wednesdays in the Woods Moves to the Porch!

Given the Governor’s directives limiting gatherings due to COVID-19, Clifton Cultural Arts Center kicks off Season 12 of our FREE summertime concerts with live streaming shows online through June on CCAC’s Facebook page, this week featuring the musical stylings of YOLO Band. 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗱: 𝗬𝗢𝗟𝗢 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗱

The YOLO Band was formed nearly six years ago with four members of the six-member Professionals Band. The four members included vocalist Anita Blue, bassist and manager Mychael Langford, drummer Byron Anderson, and saxophonist Kim White. The YOLO Band added guitarist Gary Langford and keyboardist Bruce Seecrest to fill out their R&B/Smooth Jazz sound. In the past six years they have played clubs, restaurants, summer festivals, fundraising events and anywhere people want to get together to dance and have fun. The band’s name YOLO means “You Only Live Once.”

 

CCO + SPCA: Summer Barkestra Concert Series

The Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra will surely get a round of paws filled with woofs and meows for incredible performances at the SPCA Cincinnati!

Join the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra and SPCA Cincinnati this Thursday May 28 from 1 – 2 p.m. for a Summer Barkestra Concerts Series.

For six weeks, the CCO will fill SPCA with the sounds of classical music which research has proven benefits pets with improved sleep, reduced barking, improved ability to cope with psychological stressors and much more. Catered to the ears of SPCA”s dogs and cats – and for the first time in their history – there will be live string and woodwind instrumentalists to soothe their homeless animals’ souls! And even though SPCA Cincinnati isn’t open to the public (aside from scheduled adoption appointments), you can join the organizations via Facebook live on SPCA Cincinnati’s Facebook page beginning Thursday, May 28 at 1pm.

Listen to the music and then meet some of the amazing pets up for adoption that YOU can bring home to your family and their FURever homes!

Are you ready for some LIVE MUSIC?

Thunderstruck: America’s AC/DC will take the stage at Riverfront Live (4343 Kellogg Cincinnati) this Friday Jun 5 at 8:30 p.m. This is an outdoor event for ages 16 and up.

Just a few healthy safety precautions to be made aware of:
-Temp checks to get in. Temp cannot exceed 100
-parties can NOT exceed 10
-parties must be kept 6 feet apart.
-parties must eat/drink at their table/box
-6-foot separation at all beer lines

For now, our food and culture tours are limited to 6 persons. Our Saturday morning Mainstrasse tour is a great excuse to get out and enjoy an easy stroll in a charming restored German Village. You’ll love the local food, meet a few owners and be entertained by our friendly local guides. We visit 5 different restaurants, plus a small glass of beer and wine is included. Of course, if you want to purchase more, that’s fine with us.

In Mainstrasse Village, we’ll see a 100-foot-tall Glockenspiel in Goebel Park and visit the town plaza showcasing the Goose Girl fountain. This Saturday morning tour is relaxing, filling and fun! Parking is free in the Village on Saturdays. We promise you won’t leave hungry or thirsty on this tour!

The WestSide Market is a small business pop-up market that takes place in Downtown Cheviot. Showcasing over 100 local vendors, food trucks and offers family fun activities.

-In order for us to control foot traffic, we are allowing only one entrance and one exit which will be located on Harrison Ave. You will not be able to enter from the back or the sides
