While the Epilepsy Alliance Ohio was very excited to bring a different version of the Emerald Miles Virtual 5k Run/Walk 2020 ON Friday May 15, as the COVID-19 situation has progressed, it’s become clear that they will not safely be able to hold the in person race. With many of their participants being medically compromised due to epilepsy and/or other co-morbidities, they have to put the safety and well being of participants as a top priority. It is with much sadness that they are cancelling the in-person Emerald Miles event for 2020. HOWEVER, the virtual event will go on!!!!

Join the Epilepsy Alliance Ohio as they host the annual Emerald Miles 5K virtually on Friday May 15, in memory of Dennis Stemler and everyone living with seizures. Your participation in this event helps the Epilepsy Alliance Ohio provide valuable services to our community including: counseling, support groups, community education, group homes, Camp Flame Catcher for youth with epilepsy, an Adult Day Program and much more! To find our more about the unique services the Epilepsy Alliance Ohio provides, please visit: www.epilepsy-ohio.org.

There are a few ways you can support the Epilepsy Alliance Ohio through this event! You can register for the race; register and create a team to not only encourage your friends and family to join you in the race but to also challenge yourself, family, and friends to help you raise funds for the EAO; register and join you favorite team; donate to your favorite team, or donate to the EAO to help fund our vital programs and services. No donation is too small!

The Epilepsy Alliance Ohio is dedicated to supporting those impacted by epilepsy in local communities by confronting the spectrum of challenges created by seizures. The Epilepsy Alliance Ohio (new name same mission) has been in existence since 1953; we provide direct services to optimize each person’s understanding of epilepsy and to improve their methods of coping with epilepsy.
