Oklahoma? OK!

Covedale Center for the Performing Arts is opening the stage to Oklahoma!

Running from Apr 5-29, Covedale Center for the Performing Arts (4990 Glenway Avenue Cincinnati) presents Oklahoma! the first musical written by the team of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. It is based on the play “Green Grow the Lilacs” by Lynn Riggs.

Set in a Western Indian Territory just as the turn of the century, the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and the cowboys provides the colorful background against which Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, play out their love story.  Although the road to true love never runs smooth, with these two headstrong romantics holding

the reins, love’s journey is as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road.  That they will succeed in making a new life together we have no doubt, and that this new life will begin in a brand-new state provides the ultimate climax to triumphant OKLAHOMA!

Starting on Thursday Apr 5 and going through Sunday Apr 29, showtimes are at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, 8 p.m. on Saturdays and both 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Sundays. Ticket prices are $29 for adults and $26 for Seniors, Students and Children. For tickets call (513) 241-6550 or go to http://www.cincinnatilandmarkproductions.com/ccpa/News.aspx.

Don’t miss this on-stage classic at the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts!
