The Flying Dutchman Lands in Cincinnati
For two nights only, The Flying Dutchman will return to Cincinnati.
The Flying Dutchman will be hitting the stage at Cincinnati Music Hall (1241 Elm St. Cincinnati) on Thursday Jul 5 and Saturday Jul at 7:30 p.m.
Once every seven years, the Dutchman comes ashore. Doomed to sail the seas on a ghost ship for eternity, he searches for the only key to his release. True love. Senta, a sailor’s daughter, is fascinated with his legend. When intrigue turns to obsession, she’s willing to risk everything to be the one who frees him from never-ending torment.
For the first time in over 20 years, Wagner’s thrilling take on an eerie nautical legend returns to the Music Hall stage. Last seen at Cincinnati Opera as the title character in Turandot, soprano Marcy Stonikas leads the cast as Senta. Canadian bass-baritone Nathan Berg sings the title role in his Cincinnati debut.
